24/7 Prayer in this time of crisis

A key part of our response to the COVID-19 crisis should be to “Lift our eyes up to the Lord…” through prayer as we have been doing. But it feels the time has come for us to redouble our efforts in this area by moving to continuous 24/7 prayer. Could you commit to a weekly one-hour prayer slot or several slots if you like? You can book slots to the end of June. You will need to include your name and email address. Your email address will not be visible to others using the system (it is used to send you a confirmation of your booking and reminder of your slot).

You can sign-up for slots by going to tinyurl.com/c19-prayer (use the navigation forward and back arrows at the top and bottom of the page to move between weeks).  There is no need to register.

Andrea Chatterley and Aly Ward are coordinating this and can be contacted at prayer@christchurchalsager.uk if you have any questions or need help with booking slots.

There are prayer resources below (including help for those who are new to praying). These will be updated over the coming weeks.

Prayer Resources

“Pray in the Spirit, on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests...” - Ephesians 6:18
Our vision is that we become a community that has prayer central to everything that we are and do and that it becomes our very heartbeat.
At this time then let’s be diligent and audacious in praying for one another, our community, nation and our world. Let’s lift up our leaders to God daily as they need such extraordinary wisdom from heaven. Let’s pray and care for one another, for the elderly and the vulnerable, for those facing profound financial hardship, and those working in our vital public services.
There is an urgency to prioritise prayer and in the midst of unfolding world events, it is vital that we lean into God’s love, look at our lives and the world from God’s perspective, and call on God to do the things that only God can do. Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
Let’s start praying together right away, looking to God, knowing that He can accomplish in and through us more than we could ever ask or imagine.
