Giving for Growth

As a church, we want to grow in our love for God and our love for others. An important way of expressing that is through giving.
By giving our time and money, we are able to make a big difference to people of all ages and backgrounds in our church, our community and our world. Our giving is a response to God's love for us and from a desire to share that love with our neighbours.

As a church, we rely on people generously giving time and money. For example, your giving enables us to do our work with young people and families from all backgrounds in our local community, as well as providing for those in need elsewhere in the world through partners such as Tearfund. Whilst some people are able to give more of one than the other, both time and money are essential.

Giving Money

Did you know?
  • Giving £20 per week pays for 1.5 hours of weekly youth or children's work, if gift-aided.
  • One-off gifts have enabled us to complete projects such as improving the church and hall interiors.
  • We receive no income from the wider Church of England. Instead, some of our giving supports churches in poorer areas nearby.
  • If you are able to give regularly and/or Gift Aid, then these both help us plan more effectively for the future
  • What you give is kept confidential to the two people who administer the gifts. Not even the vicar knows!
  • The Bible encourages us to give generously and cheerfully from what we have. Many start from its benchmark of 10% of income. For some this is too difficult, whilst others are able to give much more. Paul encourages each of us to consider our own consciences and circumstances. (2 Cor 9:6-11)

You can print and fill in a copy of the "Giving Response Form" using the button below. Or you can find these available at the church. All gifts are gratefully received.
Thank you!

How Can I Give a Legacy?

Legacies are a great way of contributing to the future growth of the church. They can enable us to complete significant projects that wouldn't otherwise be possible.
Because we are a registered charity, legacies to the church are tax free. To find out more about leaving a gift to the church in your will, you can talk to the treasurer or you can find out more general information at www.churchlegacy.org.uk where there is a leaflet you can send for or download.
If your will is relatively simple, then there are a number of charities that provide a free will-writing service - whilst they don't require a legacy to be left to them, it is encouraged! You may want to visit: freewillsmonth.org.uk (for over-55s) or Oxfam

How Can I Give Time?

Giving your time can also make a big impact – whether it’s a few days every week, or a few hours each month. There’s lots to get involved in! Your help will be really appreciated and joining a team can be a great way to get to know people too. If you would like to give more of your time, then please have a chat with a leader in the church or contact the church office.

(Note: For safety, regular work with young people/children/vulnerable adults will be subject to safeguarding DBS checks)

Did you know?
Church members give well over 100 hours a week voluntarily!

Thank you!
